NUCATS Point of Contact for REDCap

Leticia Vega, Application Support Specialist Senior, redcap@northwestern.eduMeet Leticia Vega, NUCATS Point of Contact for REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture).   If you are looking to transfer your existing data capture results into an electronic format or start collecting data in an electronic format, Leticia is your contact.

What do you do for NUCATS?

I am an Application Support Specialist for the NUCATS Institute.  I work closely with the research community to teach them about research tools that will help them with their studies, specifically REDCap and eNOTIS.  I assist users with training and tool administration as well as trouble shoot their everyday issues.

You are a NUCATS Point of Contact for REDCap, who should contact you if they are interested in your services?

Any research team member who is looking to either transfer their existing data capture results into an electronic format or start collecting data in an electronic format.  This tool is ideal for those who want extra data security measures while benefiting from the convenience of a web based research tool.

REDCap staff will be hosting office hours for existing REDCap users every third Wednesday from 10am-12pm in the Galter Health Sciences Library, by appointment only.  Those interested in being a new REDCap user can become familiar with all REDCap has to offer at the New REDCap User Intro Session.  Registration is limited and required.

EXISTING USERS: Request a new project or register for your 15 minute consult.

NEW USERS: Register to participate in the one hour New REDCap User Intro Session.

What's a service or project that you're really excited about?

I’m really excited to see the overall growth of the research community embracing all that NUCATS has to offer.  There are some great tools that will help facilitate their studies with ease.

And as a NUCATS Point of Contact, it's important to ask, what do you like to do for fun?

In my everyday life I’m a bit of a foodie, I'm always interested in finding new-to-me places to meet friends with over good food.  Additionally, I try to annually seek out new adventures through travel.  Whether it’s zip lining or snorkeling at an exotic location, exploration is one of my favorite things to do.
