Centers & Programs

NUCATS has evolved a highly effective structure that houses individuals working on similar areas of the clinical and translational pipeline within focused centers, and uses agile, operationally-focused programs and workgroups to address processes that span centers. Facilitated by constant communication within NUCATS, this structure allows for strategic focus on achieving our mission and developing, demonstrating, and disseminating scalable solutions in clinical and translational science, while also providing tactical responsiveness to more urgent needs.

Centers

Center for Translational Innovation (CTI)
The Innovation and New Ventures Office (INVO) partnered with NUCATS to create the Center for Translational Innovation (CTI), which represents the biomedical arm of the Institute. CTI's goal is to accelerate dissemination through commercialization.

Center for Clinical Research (CCR)
The Center for Clinical Research (CCR) offers all members of the clinical and tranlsational research community at Northwestern University and affiliate institutions the resources, services, and clinical facilities to successfully perform high-quality, cost-effective clinical and translational research.

Center for Community Health (CCH)
The Center for Community Health (CCH) offers a range of resources and services to support the engagement of communities, clinicians, patients, and other stakeholders as key partners in the research process -- from proposal development, through implementation and dissemination.

Center for Data Science and Informatics (CDSI)
The Center for Data Science and Informatics (CDSI) combines a wide range of services and support to assist Big Data research, analytics, and trial design.

Center for Education and Career Development (CECD)
NUCATS’ Center for Education and Career Development (CECD) is the home of NU’s translational workforce development activities, and partners across NU and our clinical partners to train the entire spectrum of the translational workforce. The primary goal of CECD is to develop, test and implement novel approaches to education that are collaborative, practical and enhance the research training experience.

Galter Health Sciences Library
The Galter Health Sciences Library provides dedicated support for the research, education, and patient care missions of the Feinberg School of Medicine and the McGaw Medical Center.

Programs

Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD)
This team provides expertise in research design, statistical analysis, programming, and data management.

Team Science Program (TS)
NUCATS’ efforts to catalyze biomedical research collaborations build upon our cross-cutting Team Science Program.
