The Evaluation and Continuous Improvement Program (ECI) aims to continuously improve the speed, quality and efficiency of the methods and processes of CTS through a novel, real-time, data-driven evaluation and continuous improvement process focused on the goal of enhancing research impact to improve human health.
Consultative services offered by ECI include:
Dashboards and program evaluation data management
Consultations to support enhanced dissemination strategies
Data collection, analysis, and visualization services on the individual, program, and macro levels
Impact assessment services
Assistance in setting baseline goals with an eye toward identifying and operationalizing metrics and milestones for each NUCATS unit
Tools and resources to facilitate evaluation and continuous improvement activities
Outputs and impacts are evaluated using both classic and novel metrics through performance dashboards, data reports, and visualizations. Our instrumented processes promote seamless data capture to improve service and study tracking.
Team members serve on the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Methods and Processes Domain Task Force, the Steering Group for the VIVO project, faculty of the Intensive Course on Implementing Health Research Impact Assessments, and collaborate on the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) Working Groups on definitions for appropriate metrics, calculation methodologies for specific output types, and the promotion and use of persistent identifiers as project leadership and members.
NUCATS maintains the Clinical Research Management Dashboard (Login Required) dashboard to monitor various research service activities.
