Title: Navigating the Research Enterprise

Audience: Early career faculty and postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University with protected research time

Typical meeting time & location: This annual seminar series takes place on select Mondays from 12:00-1:00 p.m., September 11th, 2017 through January 29th, 2018, on the Northwestern University Chicago Campus, Lurie and McGaw., with rooms specified by date in the schedule

Faculty Directors & Staff: Rick McGee, PhD, Associate Dean for Professional Development, Professor of Medical Education; Bill Lowe, MD, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Professor of Medicine-Endocrinology; Jaime Ziegler, NUCATS CECD Program Manager. 

Description: This workshop is offered in an effort to provide support for all early career faculty and postdoctoral fellows with protected time for investigation to focus on developing the key skills young scientists require in order to progress beyond just doing good research. Attendees will be introduced to issues such as finding sources for research funds, writing effective grants, and building a network of professional colleagues.
