Admissions Requirements

Degree Requirements: Graduate professional degree in a health-care related subject area (e.g., PhD, MD, DO, PharmD, etc.)
Relevant Research or Experience: Professional healthcare experience
Test Scores: Official GRE, USMLE or MCAT. TOEFL test scores are required of most international applicants. TGS school code for TOEFL is 1565.
Statement of Purpose

  All post-secondary transcripts

Official transcripts should be sent directly from the issuing institution's Registrar in sealed, unopened envelopes to:

Two Letters of Recommendation:

  1. One letter from the primary research mentor.
  2. For applicants NOT anticipating tuition support from their Division/Department, submit a letter from the secondary research mentor.
  3. For applicants anticipating tuition support from their Division/Department, submit a letter from your department/division administrator or chief outlining their support.

Additional Requirements:

  1. A confirmed mentor with data that is available for secondary analysis.

  2. History of publications or first-authored presentations at academic conferences

  3. Minmumum TOEFL scores are: 80 (internet based), 213 (computer based), 550 (paper based).

  4. TOEFL scores can be waived if you have earned an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited, four-year institution or equivalent, where English is the official language of instruction OR earning a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution where English is the official language of instruction. (If you’d like to verify the language of instruction for an institution with which you are unfamiliar, The Graduate School’s Office of Admissions and Recruitment can assist you.).
