ClinicalTrials.gov is Being Modernized!
As many of you know, ClinicalTrials.gov is a National Institutes of Health website containing an online database of clinical research studies and information about their results. The purpose of ClinicalTrials.gov is to provide information about clinical research studies to the public, researchers, and health care professionals.
Those of you who have worked in ClinicalTrials.gov will no doubt be aware that the current iteration of the website often feels clunky and interacting with it frequently leads to frustration. The public facing website revamp was launched in June 2023, and this summer, the Protocol Registration and Results System (PRS), the web-based tool used to submit clinical study information, will be updated to a more user-friendly, streamlined version.
You can already check out what the new PRS will look like. When you log into the old PRS, you will be greeted with a green box inviting you to visit the Beta version.
The NUCATS Institute plans to have training materials available before the new PRS launches, but in the meantime, we wanted to provide you with some existing resources from the NIH:
- FAQ about PRS modernization
- In-depth explanation of the modernization process
- Video demo of the new website
We want to reassure you that we are here to support you in this transition. As always, you will be able to reach us at clinicaltrials.gov@northwestern.edu
